OHIO ARMY NATIONAL GUARD: NEPOTISM: THE OANG WAY


Nepotism is favoritism granted to relatives or friends regardless of merit. The word nepotism is from the Latin word nepos (meaning “nephew” or “grandchild”).

Which is a fitting word for The Ohio Army National Guard recruiting command.

A SGM in the western region in Ohio has his nephew working as a team leader for him.  There have been several issues with him getting favoritism with no action.  He quickly went from recruiter to team leader above his peers.

Never being held to the same standards as others. Anytime there has been an issue where he would not get his way he would just call uncle “Don”.  It was even brought to other SGM’s and commanders attention of the unfair treatment and soldiers were just told “they would take care of it”.


Uncle “Don” even had his son working directly for him.  He reportedly pressured the Recruit Sustainment Program to hire his son into a “full time” position.  Leadership squelched the pressure yet allowed “Uncle Don” to continue to pave the way for his nephew Toby.

With Uncle “Don” having enlisted with a DUI waiver, then receiving one once he was promoted to SGM it just seems like “Uncle Don” is impervious to any regulations while a female soldier in his area gets reduced for a DUI.

Nephews and sons working for you I guess is part of the “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” Policy!  More to follow during our investigations in western Ohio.

SGM HENLINE also got a relative an AGR position in the recruting marketing office.  That person was SFC Revolt.


ANOTHER SOLDIER FIGHTS FOR HIS FREEDOM-PLEASE HELP!


PFC David W. Lawrence is an American soldier from Indiana. He is the son of Brett and Wendy Lawrence. David is 20 years old.

PFC Lawrence is accused of premeditated murder for the alleged shooting of Mullah Muhibullah on Oct. 17 while guarding him in Kandahar province, Afghanistan.

Mullah Muhibullah was a senior Taliban commander and had been captured by U.S. forces the day before his death.  Muhibullah’s death was announced by an angry Afghan President Hamid Karzai on Oct. 19.  Formal charges were filed against PFC Lawrence the same day, Oct. 19.

PFC Lawrence was medivaced out of Afghanistan on Oct. 24, and he arrived at Fort Carson, Colo. on Nov. 6.  Though the Army had ordered a sanity inquiry on Nov. 5 to determine PFC Lawrence’s mental status and whether he is suffering from a major mental defect or disease, the Army decided not to wait for that answer before initiating the court-martial process in PFC Lawrence’s case.  When the Army scheduled PFC Lawrence’s Article 32 Investigation (the equivalent to a preliminary hearing) for Nov. 29, the defense submitted two separate requests for a delay to enable the psychiatrists to determine PFC Lawrence’s mental status.  Both delay requests were denied.

“We are going to an Article 32 for a kid who is hearing voices,” James Culp, PFC Lawrence’s attorney, said.  The Article 32 Investigation proceeded on Nov. 29 and 30.  As a result of his medication regiment, which includes the strongest does available of the drug prescribed for the treatment of schizophrenia, PFC Lawrence regularly fell asleep during the legal hearing that would ultimately decide if he will be court-martialed for premeditated murder.

The “minimum” sentence for premeditated murder in the U.S. military is confinement for life. The maximum sentence is the death by execution.

Mr. Culp also said he was concerned the Army might be rushing the case to court-martial to appease Karzai.  On Dec. 3, President Barak Obama made a surprise visit to Afghanistan to calm the tensions between the U.S. and Afghanistan that had been exacerbated by the killing of Taliban Commander Mullah Muhibullah.  On the same day it was reported by Reuters that President Karzai and his brother have received large payments from the Taliban for the release of key Taliban prisoners.

Coincidentally, on July 7, 2007, the Pajhwok Afghan News Agency reported that Muhibullah, Mullah Omar’s secretary, had already been captured.  Neither U.S. nor Afghanistan officials have released any information about the process by which Muhibullah re-entered the stream of insurgency to kill and maim U.S. forces fighting in Afghanistan.

Less than a week before the shooting, PFC Lawrence was examined by psychiatrists and given drugs for depression and sleeplessness.  Days later, he was put on guard duty at a detention center in the Arghandab district of Kandahar province, despite having no training for it.

Even before David requested to be taken for treatment to a combat stress clinic in Kandahar, David was reporting to his mother and father that he was hearing voices that were “freaking him out.”

David subsequently reported to his family that his reoccurring hallucinations include seeing soldiers who had died in Afghanistan, including Capt. Dale Goetz.  He told his father “… he could see the chaplain with only half a head remaining,” Capt. Dale Goetz was a chaplain in the 4th Infantry Division for the 66th Armor Regiment’s 1st Battalion based out of Ft. Carson, Colorado. Capt. Goetz is the first Army chaplain killed in combat in 40 years.

Capt. Goetz was David’s friend. It was a known fact that David was closer to the chaplain than anyone else in the platoon.

This young man comes from a wonderful family and has very loving, caring parents who are undoubtedly afraid of what lies ahead. This is going to be a lengthy battle. Costs for specialists, travels to and from Colorado and all the costs involved with repeated weeklong stays there, medical evaluations and doctors are adding up.

Chinese Professor – It’s Over Now


 

 

 

 

The new TV commercial by the Citizens Against Government Waste starts with a scene from the future. The year is 2030 and we are set in a university auditorium in Beijing, China. Called “Chinese Professor”, the ad shows a professor lecturing a class on world economic history. The premise is simple, great nations and empires all throughout history fell due to the same reason. They taxed and over-spent themselves into obscurity.

“Why do great nations fall?” the Chinese Professor asks. “The Ancient Greeks, the Roman Empire, the British Empire and the United States of America. They all make the same mistakes, turning their backs on the principles that made them great. America tried to spend and tax itself out of a great recession. Enormous so-called “stimulus” spending, massive changes to health care, government takeovers of private industries and crushing debt. Of course, we owned most of their debt (chuckle), so now they work for us!” This is followed by the whole class laughing.

Sound far-fetched? In less than two years, President Obama has spent our way an extra $3 Trillion dollars into deeper debt, with much more to come. It took George W. Bush 8 years to spend our way an extra $4.4 Trillion dollars. America’s debt is exploding as is the size of the government and the endless bailouts.

Today in the news, we have a call for another $363 Billion just to bailout Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. I’m sure they’ll need even more since they are still sitting on over $1.5 Trillion in subprime home mortgages. China announced that they will beginning buying addition American debt, probably to forestall any pressure to revalue their Yuan which is killing our Dollar.

Overseas in Europe, the two big stories this week are the protests in France over increasing the retirement age from 60 to 62. Violence and nationwide strikes are crippling France. Across ‘The Channel’ in England, David Cameron’s government has announced it’s plans for austerity, laying off 500,000 government employees and shutting down some 140 ministries and other agencies.

Bill Clinton declared in 1997 that the “Era of Big Government was over.” Unfortunately, it wasn’t. The government continues to grow is size. Our policies, laws and public programs are so expensive that they are crippling our economy, possibly permanently. Our spending levels are unsustainable and our taxes are suppressing any new growth.

So kudos to Citizens of Government Waste for their new TV ad. While it may be shocking, there is really nothing about this ad that is outside the realm of possibilities. Frankly, I do not think it will take till 2030 for China to own America. I’d guess 2015, if they don’t own us now already!

I don’t expect you to address this ongoing situation with me.  However, you better address with someone.

Your organization is about to come apart over the racist treatment of some of your members.  Your command is out of control. Over the next two weeks,  you are going to believe that Wikileaks has gotten a hold of you.

I have forwarded you many instances of criminal acts, racism, and plain ass stupidity.  I will forward you nothing else.

You will find out things when the nation does since you do not have the common courtesy to at least give a cursory acknowledgement of the failure of your commanders.

I have read the comments left so far and I can say that I am proud to have been one of the minorities in the RRC.  I was sad to see the minority numbers dwindle as my time continued in the command.
And there are no secrets as to why it happened.  I was fortunate that for 3 of the last 4 years that I was in the RRC I had an LTC that cared about the “qualified” soldier being a leader.  It didn’t matter whether the soldier was black or white.  It was the qualifications the soldier brought to the table.
It saddens me to say that previous to his command even having more experience in the field and leadership school success under your belt, did not matter.  To the gentleman who states that there are minorities that want things given to them and don’t do the job– I challenge you to look at ALL soldiers and realize this is a generational problem and not a problem with the soldiers being black.  Unfortunately, he/she notices the shortcomings of those soldiers that are not like them.
Wake up and see reality.  Live it, walk it   then let me hear your story…..I can say with certainty there was racism when I was in, and there will likely be racism until the end of time.  This is the thing though…. Should a racist be able to decide the future of those they hate and the answer is always a resounding NO!!!!!

Study: Barack Obama Seen as Being More Black Than White


A recent study out of Harvard University has concluded that the typical adult American sees mixed-race Americans like Barack Obama and Halle Berry as being more black than white.

The study, conducted by Arnold K. Ho, a doctoral student of Psychology at Harvard, says that even when bi-racial people are equally mixed with both the white and black races, they are seen as being more black than white.

Ho conducted the study with James Sidanius, a Professor of Psychology and African American studies, also at Harvard.

The authors interpret their findings to relate to the “one-drop rule,” based on a 1662 law in Virginia that connected mixed-race individuals to their lower social class. Even as recently as 1985, a Louisiana court ruled that a woman with a black great-great-great-great grandmother could not claim that she was white on her passport.

“One of the remarkable things about our research on hypodescent is what it tells us about the hierarchical nature of race relations in the United States,” Sidanius said. “Hypodescent against blacks remains a relatively powerful force within American society.”

The work is published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology. The study certainly opens the mind toward noticing the things that are typically left out of our consciousness. Racial divisions are so deeply entrenched in our society that they are accepted as part of our nation’s default state of existence.

Matters are made worse by the fact that African Americans have been so terribly miseducated about the horrors we’ve experienced in this country and our nation refuses to acknowledge how 400 years of sub-human treatment affects all of us today. One interesting example is the finding of a researcher that black babies were used as alligator bait during the 1800s. The researcher dug further into the matter after wondering why there are so many postcards from 100 years ago that featured black babies running away from hungry alligators.

I am not one to disagree with the conclusions of the scholars who conducted the Harvard study, given that their explanation for the findings seem quite plausible. Another possibility, however, is that skin complexion and hair texture may also play a role in how mixed race Americans are perceived. Given that we are used to seeing black people in all different shades, it’s not out of the question that Halle and Barack are identified as being black primarily because they look like other black people.

One personal example of the strength of the black gene pool is my God daughter, who has a white grandmother, a bi-racial mother and a father from Ghana. There is nothing about her dark, beautiful skin that would make you think that she could possibly be one-quarter white. Now, if she looked white and called herself white, I can’t imagine anyone challenging her self-identity. But her father’s African blood seemed to step into her DNA and take over the whole party.

Another reason that Halle Berry and President Obama might be considered black is because they also identify themselves as being black. Perhaps it was social pressure or something even more sinister, but Barack Obama has never identified himself as anything other than a black man (although it may have cost him politically, since Republicans have consistently tried to radicalize his image), and the same is true for Halle Berry. If anything, it might be the case that mixed-race individuals are made to feel that they can’t be proud of the white side of their family, for fear of being considered a sell-out. For example, Tiger Woods’ world-famous “Cablinasian” remark to describe his pride in being of mixed race was met with ridicule from quite a few members of the African American community. So, while we cannot argue that black people have been consistently relegated to a lower socio-economic class, the truth is that black people also some ability to define ourselves.

GOP Rep. Allen West Won’t Back Down: “Obama is probably the dumbest person walking around in America today”


Here is video of MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell doing his best to try and get GOP Rep. Allen West to “retract” and “apologize” for his assertion that President Obama should not slip into war zones under cover of darkness when he goes to visit the troops in Afghanistan. West said a leader should “lead by example,” and if America is asking our young men and women to put themselves in harm’s way, the leaders of nation must lead by example.

O’Donnell repeatedly asked West if he really believes that, and West very calmly stood by his statements.

Liberals just don’t know what to do with someone like Allen West!

Robert Fisk: Countries Holding Secret Meetings To Replace the Dollar


In the (UK) Independent, Robert Fisk, who has wide contacts in the Middle East, reports on “secret meetings . . . by finance ministers and central bank governors in Russia, China, Japan and Brazil to work on” an Arab scheme that “will mean that oil will no longer be priced in dollars.”

In the most profound financial change in recent Middle East history, Gulf Arabs are planning – along with China, Russia, Japan and France – to end dollar dealings for oil, moving instead to a basket of currencies including the Japanese yen and Chinese yuan, the euro, gold and a new, unified currency planned for nations in the Gulf Co-operation Council, including Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait and Qatar.

Secret meetings have already been held by finance ministers and central bank governors in Russia, China, Japan and Brazil to work on the scheme, which will mean that oil will no longer be priced in dollars.

The plans, confirmed to The Independent by both Gulf Arab and Chinese banking sources in Hong Kong, may help to explain the sudden rise in gold prices, but it also augurs an extraordinary transition from dollar markets within nine years.

The Americans, who are aware the meetings have taken place – although they have not discovered the details – are sure to fight this international cabal which will include hitherto loyal allies Japan and the Gulf Arabs. Against the background to these currency meetings, Sun Bigan, China’s former special envoy to the Middle East, has warned there is a risk of deepening divisions between China and the US over influence and oil in the Middle East. “Bilateral quarrels and clashes are unavoidable,” he told the Asia and Africa Review. “We cannot lower vigilance against hostility in the Middle East over energy interests and security.”

This sounds like a dangerous prediction of a future economic war between the US and China over Middle East oil – yet again turning the region’s conflicts into a battle for great power supremacy. China uses more oil incrementally than the US because its growth is less energy efficient. The transitional currency in the move away from dollars, according to Chinese banking sources, may well be gold. An indication of the huge amounts involved can be gained from the wealth of Abu Dhabi, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar who together hold an estimated $2.1 trillion in dollar reserves.

The decline of American economic power linked to the current global recession was implicitly acknowledged by the World Bank president Robert Zoellick. “One of the legacies of this crisis may be a recognition of changed economic power relations,” he said in Istanbul ahead of meetings this week of the IMF and World Bank. But it is China’s extraordinary new financial power – along with past anger among oil-producing and oil-consuming nations at America’s power to interfere in the international financial system – which has prompted the latest discussions involving the Gulf states.

Brazil has shown interest in collaborating in non-dollar oil payments, along with India. Indeed, China appears to be the most enthusiastic of all the financial powers involved, not least because of its enormous trade with the Middle East.

Note that the Euro, but not the US dollar, is projected to be part of the basket currency.

This effort parallels efforts to replace the US dollar as the world reserve currency. One aspect of having a multicultural president who doesn’t embrace American exceptionalism is that this administration seems to be “quite open” to international proposals to replace — and thus undermine — the dollar.
