Dr. Steve Pieczenik and Alex Jones-FULL INTERVIEW 3 and 4 May 2011

Pieczenik cannot be dismissed as a “conspiracy theorist”.

He served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State under three different administrations, Nixon, Ford and Carter, while also working under Reagan and Bush senior, and still works as a consultant for the Department of Defense.

A former US Navy Captain, Pieczenik achieved two prestigious Harry C. Solomon Awards at the Harvard Medical School as he simultaneously completed a PhD at MIT.

Recruited by Lawrence Eagleburger as Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Management, Pieczenik went on to develop, “the basic tenets for psychological warfare, counter terrorism, strategy and tactics for transcultural negotiations for the US State Department, military and intelligence communities and other agencies of the US Government,” while also developing foundational strategies for hostage rescue that were later employed around the world.

Pieczenik also served as a senior policy planner under Secretaries Henry Kissinger, Cyrus Vance, George Schultz and James Baker and worked on George W. Bush’s election campaign against Al Gore. His record underscores the fact that he is one of the most deeply connected men in intelligence circles over the past three decades plus.

The character of Jack Ryan, who appears in many Tom Clancy novels and was also played by Harrison Ford in the popular 1992 movie Patriot Games, is also based on Steve Pieczenik.

Back in April 2002, over nine years ago, Pieczenik told the Alex Jones Show that Bin Laden had already been “dead for months,” and that the government was waiting for the most politically expedient time to roll out his corpse. Pieczenik would be in a position to know, having personally met Bin Laden and worked with him during the proxy war against the Soviets in Afghanistan back in the early 80′s.

Pieczenik said that Osama Bin Laden died in 2001, “Not because special forces had killed him, but because as a physician I had known that the CIA physicians had treated him and it was on the intelligence roster that he had marfan syndrome,” adding that the US government knew Bin Laden was dead before they invaded Afghanistan.

Marfan syndrome is a degenerative genetic disease for which there is no permanent cure. The illness severely shortens the life span of the sufferer.

“He died of marfan syndrome, Bush junior knew about it, the intelligence community knew about it,” said Pieczenik, noting how CIA physicians had visited Bin Laden in July 2001 at the American Hospital in Dubai.

“He was already very sick from marfan syndrome and he was already dying, so nobody had to kill him,” added Pieczenik, stating that Bin Laden died shortly after 9/11 in his Tora Bora cave complex.

“Did the intelligence community or the CIA doctor up this situation, the answer is yes, categorically yes,” said Pieczenik, referring to Sunday’s claim that Bin Laden was killed at his compound in Pakistan, adding, “This whole scenario where you see a bunch of people sitting there looking at a screen and they look as if they’re intense, that’s nonsense,” referring to the images released by the White House which claim to show Biden, Obama and Hillary Clinton watching the operation to kill Bin Laden live on a television screen.

“It’s a total make-up, make believe, we’re in an American theater of the absurd….why are we doing this again….nine years ago this man was already dead….why does the government repeatedly have to lie to the American people,” asked Pieczenik.

“Osama Bin Laden was totally dead, so there’s no way they could have attacked or confronted or killed Osama Bin laden,” said Pieczenik, joking that the only way it could have happened was if special forces had attacked a mortuary.

Pieczenik said that the decision to launch the hoax now was made because Obama had reached a low with plummeting approval ratings and the fact that the birther issue was blowing up in his face.

“He had to prove that he was more than American….he had to be aggressive,” said Pieczenik, adding that the farce was also a way of isolating Pakistan as a retaliation for intense opposition to the Predator drone program, which has killed hundreds of Pakistanis.

“This is orchestrated, I mean when you have people sitting around and watching a sitcom, basically the operations center of the White House, and you have a president coming out almost zombie-like telling you they just killed Osama Bin Laden who was already dead nine years ago,” said Pieczenik, calling the episode, “the greatest falsehood I’ve ever heard, I mean it was absurd.”

Dismissing the government’s account of the assassination of Bin Laden as a “sick joke” on the American people, Pieczenik said, “They are so desperate to make Obama viable, to negate the fact that he may not have been born here, any questions about his background, any irregularities about his background, to make him look assertive….to re-elect this president so the American public can be duped once again.”

Pieczenik’s assertion that Bin Laden died almost ten years ago is echoed by numerous intelligence professionals as well as heads of state across the world.

Bin Laden, “Was used in the same way that 9/11 was used to mobilize the emotions and feelings of the American people in order to go to a war that had to be justified through a narrative that Bush junior created and Cheney created about the world of terrorism,” stated Pieczenik.

During his interview with the Alex Jones Show yesterday, Pieczenik also asserted he was directly told by a prominent general that 9/11 was a stand down and a false flag operation, and that he is prepared to go to a grand jury to reveal the general’s name.

“They ran the attacks,” said Pieczenik, naming Dick Cheney, Paul Wolfowitz, Stephen Hadley, Elliott Abrams, and Condoleezza Rice amongst others as having been directly involved.

“It was called a stand down, a false flag operation in order to mobilize the American public under false pretenses….it was told to me even by the general on the staff of Wolfowitz – I will go in front of a federal committee and swear on perjury who the name was of the individual so that we can break it open,” said Pieczenik, adding that he was “furious” and “knew it had happened”.

“I taught stand down and false flag operations at the national war college, I’ve taught it with all my operatives so I knew exactly what was done to the American public,” he added.

Pieczenik re-iterated that he was perfectly willing to reveal the name of the general who told him 9/11 was an inside job in a federal court, “so that we can unravel this thing legally, not with the stupid 9/11 Commission that was absurd.”

Pieczenik explained that he was not a liberal, a conservative or a tea party member, merely an American who is deeply concerned about the direction in which his country is heading.

Civil War Era Law: Obama can bypass Congress on debt

Obscure clause may help US avert default

WASHINGTON — The White House could resort to an little-known line in the US constitution to prevent a ruinous default if Democrats and Republicans do not agree to raise the debt ceiling by August 2, experts say.

The 143-year-old clause, written to address still-potent divisions after the bloody Civil War, has been dredged up by legal scholars as well as the US Treasury secretary to suggest how a debt debacle might be avoided.

But resorting to it could spark a constitutional crisis over just who — the Congress or the White House — controls the power of the federal purse, analysts say.

The US government reached its debt limit of $14.29 trillion in May and since then the Treasury has used special measures to allow the government to keep paying its bills.

But unless the limit is raised by August 2, the Treasury says, growing spending and debt service commitments will force a default, which would have disastrous ripple effects throughout the global financial system.

Republicans in Congress — which sets the debt cap into law — have refused to raise it unless the move is accompanied by deep spending cuts, and their talks with Democrats have made little visible progress.

If the impasse is not broken, could President Barack Obama simply ignore the ceiling and borrow more money?

Some legal experts believe he could, citing the 14th Amendment to the Constitution, adopted in 1868.

With the country still wrestling with post-war divisions, section four of the amendment was written after politicians from the defeated south sought to block the north’s commitment to repay large debts arising from its victorious campaign.

“The validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law … shall not be questioned,” it reads.

Neil Buchanan, a professor at George Washington University Law School, said that means the government’s obligation to make payments cannot be abrogated by some “arbitrary limit.”

“If Congress has enacted laws that create public obligations, then those obligations must be met,” Buchanan wrote in a column on Thursday.

Taken a step farther, some suggest, the law may make the debt ceiling itself unconstitutional.

While some have argued that the constitutional clause was specific to the situation of the time, a 1935 Supreme Court ruling established that it still applies, Buchanan said.

Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, who has warned that a default would have “catastrophic” consequences, raised the clause during a discussion of the debt ceiling in May — though he did not say the White House should invoke it if negotiations fail.

If invoked, experts say, it could spark a nasty fight over constitutional powers between the White House and Congress.

Asked about it during his Twitter town hall this week, Obama — a former constitutional law professor — emphasized the need to reach a deal in Congress.

“I don’t think we should even get to the constitutional issue. Congress has a responsibility to make sure we pay our bills,” he said.

Geithner’s mention of the law does not mean he thinks it can be used to ignore the debt cap, the Treasury said Friday in a letter addressed to The New York Times.

“The secretary has cited the 14th amendment… in support of his strong conviction that Congress has an obligation to ensure we are able to honor the obligations of the United States,” a senior lawyer for the department wrote.

Pakistan hits back at US commander over journalist’s murder claim

Pakistan has lashed out at America’s top-ranking military officer, Admiral Mike Mullen, on Friday, saying that its relations with the US have been further damaged by his remarks blaming the Islamabad government for the killing, torture and murder of a Pakistani journalist.

The chairman of the joint chiefs of staff shocked Islamabad by saying publicly what US officials had confirmed only in private: that the Pakistani government had “sanctioned” the killing of Syed Saleem Shahzad, the investigative reporter for Asia Times Online whose mutilated body was found on 30 May in a canal 40 miles from the capital. He had been writing about jihadist infiltration of the Pakistani military.

Pakistan’s information minister, Firdous Ashiq Awan, told a news conference Mullen had made an “extremely irresponsible and unfortunate statement”.

“This statement will create problems and difficulties for the bilateral relations between Pakistan and America. It will definitely deal a blow to our common efforts with regard to the war on terror,” she said, without going into details.

The row comes at a time when ties between the two countries have not recovered from the US raid that killed Osama bin Laden on 2 May in the central Pakistani town of Abbottabad. Pakistan’s armed forces are smarting from the humiliation of the special forces mission, which was carried out without their permission or knowledge. After discovering the al-Qaida leader near a military academy in a town full of retired officers, the US remains suspicious that he had been helped by members of the Pakistani government, army or the Inter-Services Intelligence spy agency.

Since the raid, Islamabad announced it was stopping US drone flights launched from its soil, although US officials said the flights, aimed at tracking down and killing al-Qaida members and other militants, had been suspended in April, after a row over Islamabad’s arrest of a CIA contractor, Raymond Davis, who shot two Pakistani nationals in Lahore in January.

It is unclear whether Mullen’s remarks were approved beforehand by the White House or whether they simply reflected the frustration of a senior officer approaching retirement in two months, who invested considerable time in cultivating relationships with his Pakistani counterparts.

US and British intelligence officials believe that apart from a small department dealing with foreign agencies, the ISI’s conduct is beyond the influence of the civilian government in Islamabad and its western allies.

Washington and London are anxious the poor human rights record of the Pakistani security services may have helped to entrench extreme jihadism in Pakistani society.

The Barack Obama administration has given off-the-record briefings that blame the ISI for Shahzad’s abduction and killing – an allegation the ISI has rejected.

In his public remarks at a Pentagon briefing on Thursday, Mullen hwas less specific about the branch of government involvement, but left no doubt over who he thought was culpable. “It was sanctioned by the government,” he said. “I have not seen anything to disabuse the report that the government knew about this.”

He added that he thought Shahzad’s killing was part of a pattern of eliminating troublesome journalists. “His [death] isn’t the first. For whatever reason, it has been used as a method historically”, adding that it raised worrying questions about Pakistan’s future. “It’s not a way to move ahead. It’s a way to continue to, quite frankly, spiral in the wrong direction.” The Pakistani government has set up a judicial commission to investigate Shahzad’s death. It has requested copies of the journalist’s email and mobile phone records and has summoned the assistance of 16 “prominent personalities” from the media and human rights organisations.

Obama seeks ‘biggest deal possible’ on debt

COLONEL SIXX:  OBAMA IS PLAYING A DANGEROUS GAME OF CHICKEN WITH OUR ECONOMY.

The White House says the US president will seek “the biggest deal possible” in talks aimed at averting a debt default after Republicans withdrew from a $4tn deficit-reduction deal because it would raise taxes.

With the August 2 deadline looming larger, Barack Obama and John Boehner, speaker of the Republican-dominated House of Representatives, were to meet other congressional leaders at 6pm EDT (22:00 GMT) on Sunday at the White House for deliberations.

Boehner, facing stiff opposition from fellow Republicans over the prospects of higher taxes as part of a large-scale budget deal, told Obama on Saturday he would only pursue a smaller $2tn package.

The move threatened to throw Sunday night’s meeting into disarray. It followed Democratic complaints to Obama that he should not agree to any reforms of popular entitlement programmes that would lead to benefit cuts.

Calling it a “grave moment for the country”, Timothy Geithner, the treasury secretary, told NBC’s Meet the Press programme that Obama and the Democrats would try to get the “biggest deal possible” and that failure to act could lead to catastrophic damage to the fragile US economy.

“It’s going to require both sides to compromise. The president’s bringing both sides together again at the White House this evening to try to figure out how to move forward,” Geithner said.

Default ‘will be avoided’

William Daley, the White House chief of staff, told CBS’ Face the Nation programme that “there’s no question in my mind” that a default will be avoided.

“I’m confident of that,” he said.

In an appearance on another TV programme, ABC’s This Week With Christian Amanpour, Daley said the White House believed a deal of around $4tn was needed to “send a statement to the world that the US has gotten hold of their … fiscal problems”.

Failure to act could mean the first-ever default on the nation’s financial obligations, which the White House and private economists warn could push the US back into recession and trigger global financial chaos.

Reporting from Washington DC, Al Jazeera’s John Terret: “The US is going to run out of money on August 2 and in order to raise the debt ceiling the Republicans said: look Mr Obama, you have to come to a deal with us to reduce the budget deficit – the amount of money the US spends over and above what it brings in – and so bring down the long-term debt as well.

“The big question is, will they come to any conclusions tonight? Honestly, in Washington we don’t think so. We think it’s a leap for them to get to the $2.5tn mark.”

Dampened hopes

Aides to Obama and Boehner had been working on a far-reaching package of spending cuts and new revenue that would have reduced deficits by $4tn over 10 years and cleared the way for lifting the $14.3tn cap on the government’s borrowing capacity.

But Boehner’s move dampened hopes of any immediate compromise and raised doubts about the chances that Sunday’s talks would start moving the budget debate towards a conclusion.

“Despite good-faith efforts to find common ground, the White House will not pursue a bigger debt reduction agreement without tax hikes,” Boehner said in a statement. “I believe the best approach may be to focus on producing a smaller measure.”

Appearing on the Fox News Sunday programme, Mitch McConnell, the senate Republican leader, said,: “Nobody’s talking about not raising the debt ceiling.”

He said he was “for the biggest deal possible too. It’s just that we’re not going to raise taxes in the middle of this horrible economic situation”.

Democrats want to shield popular domestic programmes from huge cuts and say that any deal must include increases in tax revenue, including an expiration of tax cuts on wealthier Americans introduced during the presidency of George Bush junior.

Republicans – under pressure from Tea Party conservatives – reject any increased taxes and want curbs on popular benefit programmes such as Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security.

Eric Holder gave false info. to a Congressional Committee last May about ATF operations tied to the deaths of two U.S. Agents; we have the proof.

(SALEM, Ore.) – New information indicates that U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder’s actions are squarely behind the ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms) operation known as “Fast and Furious”, which orchestrated the delivery of almost 2,000 weapons to Mexican drug cartels[1].

Holder openly proclaimed his connection to the operation in April 2009 during a publicized speech in Mexico, then told a Congressional Committee in May 2011, “I probably heard of Fast and Furious the first time in the last few weeks.”[2]

The ATF weapons smuggling ring involved the arrest of several government officials with the city of Columbus, New Mexico including the mayor and police chief, but that is all[3].

They were apparently known from the beginning and the weapons deals with ‘straw buyers’ were videotaped. Smuggled U.S. weapons from this operation, described as mostly semi automatic versions of military weapons like the AK-47, were found to be used in the shooting deaths of two U.S. federal agents.

The new information, which is not really new at all, proves that Holder had to be aware of the U.S. government weapons smuggling operation planned and implemented by federal agents from ATF which he denied to Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-CA) less than two months ago, as detailed below.

Background on Fast and Furious ‘Gunrunner’ Operation

As we have reported with the help of our Photojournalist Robert Plumlee, who is a former CIA asset, we know that around 1,800 weapons were funneled through the Chaparral Gun Store in Chaparral, New Mexico, and into the hands of the murderous cartels. As referenced, the gun shop was directly tied to the mayor, police chief and city council of Columbus, New Mexico, a town famous for the Pancho Villa border raids a century before[4].

Weapons from the ATF Gunrunner or Gunwalker scheme as it came to be known, were recovered from the desert where U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry died in a shootout with cartel members. A U.S. gun that allegedly was smuggled into Mexico from Dallas, Texas, was used to murder an Immigration Customs Enforcement Agent named Jaime Zapata[5].

Considering how big of a problems guns and violence already are in Mexico, it should be a mystery how this U.S. / Mexico weapons smuggling program was ever launched, and according to Holder’s earlier testimony, included in our report, Feds Call Meeting with Journalist Who Reported Human Remains and Cartel Weapon Build up with U.S. Ties, it is a mystery[6].

The Shape of Things To Come

July 8, 2011

charles  hugh smith

The Great Reset could take many forms. The only certain thing is that today’s profound political disunity and our destabilizing financial Plutocracy will force a crisis.

Yesterday I laid out why the U.S. will inevitably experience The Great Reset. What comes after that systemic devolution/crisis is unknown, but we can speculate on the shape of things to come.

Though we cannot know the outcome, we can certainbly discern the outlines of the crisis itself. These destabilizing conditions will force a crisis at some point and will be resolved one way or another:

1. Profound political disunity. As I noted in Survival+, this was a key feature of the Roman Empire in its final slide to collapse. The shared values and consensus which had held the Empire’s core together dissolved, leaving petty fiefdoms to war among themselves for what power and swag remained.

Today we have several types of political disunity. Superficially, the two “political theater” wings of the Demopublicans stage a bitter partisan war over whose vision of the U.S. as a “Plutocracy, but with benefits” holds an increasingly enfeebled political power.

But this is all theater and artifice. Neither wing has any vision or values of substance; each slavshly serves their masters, the corporate cartels and financial Oligarchy, while feeding their vast constituencies in the Savior State great gobs of borrowed treasure to maintain the “Plutocracy, but with benefits.”

The real disunity is between a doomed Status Quo and those willing to deal with reality. Right now those willing to deal with reality are few, but they have the distinct advantage of reality on their side, while the Status Quo has only propaganda, artifice, phony political theater and empty promises.

The disunity stems from the public’s innate desire to hold onto the empty promises and cling to the hope offered by the Status Quo that these grandiose, impossible promises will be met, despite the abundant factual evidence to the contrary.

Every attempt to lead the public toward the realization that the present is unsustainable will be crushed by a frantic assault of the fiefdoms, cartels and players who will lose power and profits when the Status Quo crumbles under its own weight.

Promises always sound better than reality until a crisis punctures the promises. But the anger generated by this deflation of “too good to be true” promises threatens both rationality and stability.

2. A dearth of leadership. The weakness of what passes for “leadership” today is not just a matter of bad luck but of the corruption of politics to the point that it only attracts sycophants, moral midgets and sociopaths. It’s easy to blame those attracted to the game for this, but the real cause is the American people, who reject honesty in favor of artifice and promises. The American public is child-like, self-centered, myopic, ill-informed and ultimately uncaring about anything but getting their share of the swag.

Thus anyone who promises that their share of the swag will remain untouched wins, and anyone who suggests the swag is unsustainable is rejected as “judgmental” or “negative.” To the degree a nation gets the leadership it demands, then the U.S. is in trouble. We’re now a nation of spoiled teens who get to elect their parents. No surprise, the ‘rents who never enforce any rules, never challenge their own bosses (the kleptocrats) and who dole out the most allowance win every time.

Thus we get leaders who refuse to challenge the Financial Power Elites, cartels and fiefdoms because the Status Quo would devote all its stupendous wealth and influence to defeating a challenger, and we get leaders who refuse to be honest with the American people because that honesty is rejected as unwelcome.

Ideally, a leader persuades the public to grow up rather than pander to their basest desires, but such a leader would only have one term of office.

3. The unstable double-bind of rule by Financial Plutocracy. A funny thing happens when a nation allows itself to be ruled by kleptocrats: such rule is intrinsically destabilizing, as there is no longer any center to bind the nation together. The public sees the value system at the top is “I, Me, Mine” greed fed by complicity/corruption, and they follow suit by pursuing whatever petty frauds and corruptions are within reach: tax avoidance, cheating on entrance exams, gaming disability, lying on mortgage and job applications, and so on.

Meanwhile, the diverting of national income into a few power centers is also destabilizing, as Central Planning and Market Manipulation (TM, Federal Reserve, all rights reserved worldwide) are intrinsically unstable as price can no longer be discovered by unfettered markets. As a result, imbalances grow until some seemingly tiny incident or disruption triggers a cascading collapse.

The double-bind is two-fold: the Power Elites can’t bear to part with any of their power or wealth, so their resistance guarantees systemic collapse. The political “leadership” cannot challenge the Power Elites’ grip on the nation’s throat because the entire Status Quo has been co-opted/sold out and is now wedded to the Oligarchy as their guarantor of financial security.

What this leads to is a Status Quo committed to a sinking ship. The very imbalances created by a Financial Elite and the enabling Central State Central Planning doom the system, but since everyone within the Status Quo depends on it for their own slice of wealth and power, then no one dares speak up in favor of reality. Complicity is the order of the day, but complicity can’t stop the ship from sinking.

4. The political corruption of religion. Jesus did not say, “Go forth and lobby the Roman Senate, to make laws which impose your interpretations on others.” Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have been fighting, that I might not be delivered over to the Jews. But my kingdom is not from the world.” (John 18:36)

Although it is unpopular to say so, some aspects of religion in the U.S. have been corrupted by a desire for wealth and a focus on acquiring it, and by a desire for political power masquerading as morality.

Very few (I know of none) commentators, mainstream or independent, see the potential for a Great Awakening, a spiritual, non-denominational renewal of faith not as some political force in the greasy halls of power but as a motivator of personal responsibility and resolve. I may be alone in this, but American history is replete with examples not only of political upheaval but of broad-based spiritual renewals that reject the earthly excesses in favor of a renewed moral center.

Such movements need not be associated with any one religion or denomination; they tend to be cultural in nature, drawing inspiration from religious faith but extending beyond the confines of the church.

Complicity and dependence erode the soul; political or financial “fixes” alone can’t fix the rot. In a fundamentally corrupt, complicit society, rules and laws are routinely evaded, bypassed, undermined or simply ignored. Making more rules fixes nothing if the rules are merely for show, or only for the bottom 99%.

The resolution of these brewing instabilities could be orderly or disorderly. In an orderly scenario, a new Constitutional Convention is convened, and a leadership backed by an enlightened public hammers out a consensus to limit the political and financial dominance of Financial Power Elites and corporate cartels. The new consensus reorients the Central State to its original purpose of limiting predation of the citizenry by Elites and criminals, defending the nation and imposing the rule of law as defined by the Constitution. The Savior State would be dismantled in an orderly process.

In a disorderly resolution, the Status Quo and the public both refuse to deal with reality and instead cling to the Titanic, demanding magical solutions that will keep the doomed ship from sinking. There is no such magic, of course, and so the ship will go down, and disorder will reign.

It might take the shape of a financial crisis such as a devaluation or hyperinflation, or it might take a political crisis such as a “Quiet Coup” by Elites or an outbreak of resistance to the heavy-handed Central State.

At the outer boundaries of such disorder, then the nation could split apart, along the lines of the book The Nine Nations of North America, or into permutations of civil war as invisioned by author/blogger Chris Sullins in his novel series Operation SERF.

The salient feature of instability is its unpredictability. The longer the nation waits to deal with unwelcome realities, the greater the eventual destabilization. What happens as a result of that inevitable destabilization will be up to us.

US teen unemployment becoming a serious issue

10 July 2011

America has yet to break free from the economic downturn that shattered the country’s economy toward the end of 2007.

The teenage unemployment rate in the United States has blown out to nearly twenty five percent.

There was a 0.3 percent hike in June, sending the rate to an all-time high, giving rise to how teenagers will enter the adult workforce.

The latest rate was issued by the Employment Policies Institute, a think-tank in Washington, D.C, which announced the figure did not factor in teens who are not seeking work.

However, when those numbers are included in the statistics, the unemployment rate jumps to a staggering 75 percent.

The institute has worked out that seasonal job prospects now fail to provide jobs for three out of every four teens, with African American teens bear the brunt of the high teen unemployment rate.

The African American teen unemployment rate was at 40.7 percent in May.
